2011 Competitive Church League Rules
** Church league will acknowledge ASA Slow-pitch Co-Ed rules except for the following:
One hour time limit with a ten minute grace period before game, but try to start on time.
Game balls will be furnished by each team- 12" Dudley Thunder Heat MSB- 44 or 12" Reebok VR-6000 MSB-44. Any team who uses a ball other than the 12" Thunder Heat MSB-44 or 12" Reebok VR-6000 MSB-44 will automatically forfeit their game.
Sliding into bases: If a male decides or has to slide he must slide head first if a female is playing base or taking the throw at the base. Females may slide anyway they like.
Steel Cleats: Are not allowed, if a players use steel cleats in a game that player will be ejected from the contest.
Bat all players that come to game and want to play.
Three women in the field at all times. One female must play pitcher or catcher. Cannot have two females or males playing both pitcher and catcher. You must have one woman playing an infield position and another playing an outfield position at all times.
A team can play with nine players if your team doesn't have 10 players- 3 women must be included in 9 players. Team playing with 9 players must take an out in the 10th place in the batting order.
Home team will be official score keeper, but both teams will exchange batting orders and keep score.
Make up games will be coordinated with director 647-8117- Only Rain Games.

If your team is not ready to play at assigned times your team will forfeit the game and there will be no make up.
Run Rule is 12 runs after four, 10 runs after five innings of play.
When batting order has been established no changes can be made. Late players will be added at the end of the batting order.
The plate umpire ruling will be final.
Additions to original roster- a player must wait two games after his/her name has been added to a roster before they can participate. Also, to become eligible to play in the end of the season tournament all players must have signed the league roster by August 5th to participate in the tourney. A maximum roster limit of 20 players may be used in the tourney.
Age Limit- 15 year old or a freshman in high school. Any player under the age of 18 must wear a batting helmet while batting or coaching a base. Penalty for not wearing a batting helmet in the batters box will be a dead ball out. No Tolerance!!!!
Players name can only appear on one church roster.
Runner Substitution- A courtesy runner for an injured player may enter a contest with approval from their opponent after conferring with the umpire in charge. The coach or representative of the opposing team will have the final saying to determine if the courtesy may enter the game or not. If a runner is allowed to enter male/female the last member of the batting order who made the last out will be allowed to run for the injured player.
Walk Rule- If a male batter is walked and female batter follows she will automatically walk.
Arc of 200' form home plate and infielders must stay on dirt for female batters.
Bats will be provided for each field by the rules committee. No other bats may be used in the league. If a player is caught using an illegal bat the umpire will declare a dead ball out and all runners must return to previous bags if the bases were occupied by runners.
Batting Order- A female must bat in each third of the batting order. No two females may bat in consecutive order. Example if you are batting order consists of 13 batters. A female must bat in the 1-3 part of the batting order. The second female must bat 4-6 in the batting order. The third female must bat 7-10 in the batting order and the fourth female, if you have one, must bat 11-13 in the batting order. Note if your first female is batting in the third spot of the batting order you cannot have a female batting in the 4th spot and so on.
Batters - When a batter comes to the plate he or she will have a one ball one strike count. If the batters fouls off their third strike the batter will be given an additional foul ball. If the batter swings and misses or fouls off the second third strike pitch then the batter will be out. This will be a dead ball foul out.
