9-10 Boys Baseball Rules

Game Duration – The game will consist of five inning, or 1:05 minutes. No new inning will start after 55 minutes.  A game will be terminated after four innings if a team has a six run advantage or after 3 innings if a team has an eleven run advantage. An inning will consist of three outs or five runs whichever comes first.

Base Length – Pitching distance is 42 feet and bases length is 65 feet.

Official Inning – Three outs or a maximum of five runs will constitute an official inning.

Pitching – Pitching limit: 15 outs in one day, maximum and/or six total innings per week. Week is Monday through Saturday. Pitching will be relaxed for more than two game weeks.

Substitution – Free substitution but batting order must not be altered or changed. Players taken out may re-enter, but must be in the same hitting order throughout the game.

Advance On Overthrow – Normal play situation. Overthrows will stop play, but only if the ball is by rule out of play. A runner may advance at their own risk any number of bases overthrows.

Tie Games – Tie games will be extended only one extra inning using a version of the international tie breaker rule. A runner will be placed on second base and the team batting will have one out recorded when the inning starts. If the game is still tied after the extra inning, the contest will be recorded as a tie.

No Advance On A Dropped Third Strike

Bunts Allowed

Contact Rule – Any player intentionally making unnecessary contact with another player will be called out and the second offense will be ejected from the game.
