11-13 Boys Baseball Rules

Game Duration – Thirteen and under age group will play six innings or 1:15 minutes whichever comes first. No new inning will start after 1:05 minutes. The run rule is:

12 After 3
10 After 4
8 After 5

Base Length – Bases for 11-13 are 70 feet: Pitching length is 47 feet.

Pitching – Pitching limit: Eighteen outs in one day, maximum and/or twenty-one outs per week. Week is Monday through Saturday. Pitching will be relaxed for more than two game weeks.

Substitution – Free substitution but batting order must not be altered or changed. Players taken out may re-enter the game, but must be in the same hitting order throughout the game.

Infield Fly Rule Will Be Enforced – The infield fly rule, simply stated, is when first and second base, or all three bases, are occupied, any ball (must be fair) that can easily be caught by an infielder, the batter is automatically called out and the runners may advance at their own risk.

Advance On Overthrow – A runner may advance at their own risk any number of bases on overthrows.

Tie Games – Tie games will be extended only one extra inning using a version of the international tiebreaker rule. A runner will be placed on second base and the team batting will have one out recorded when the inning starts. If the game is still tied after the extra inning, the contest will be recorded as a tie..

Advancement On Dropped Third Strike – A batter may advance on a dropped third strike if first base is not occupied, and can also advance with it occupied only with two outs.

Bunts Allowed

Contact Rule – Any player intentionally making unnecessary contact with another player will be called out and on the second offense will be ejected from the game.

Warm-Up Pitches – Six to start the game and four between innings.

Ball – A 9” baseball will be used.
